The Pharmacist is responsible for drug preparation and distribution, both personally and through general supervision of pharmacy interns and technicians, assists physicians and other health care professionals by providing patient specific drug information and drug therapy recommendations, monitors patient’s drug therapy for appropriate outcome and consults with prescribers when necessary, manages drug therapy for selected patient per protocol and with physician authorization, and manages pharmacy inventory, both personally and through supervision of technicians.
Must have PharmD or BS with comparable clinical experience. Prefer accredited residency and Board Certification. Prefer at least one (1) year of hospital experience (residency and clinical clerkship experience may be applied) should have experience with drug information, pharmacokinetics monitoring, Total Parenteral Nutrition monitoring, PYXIS systems, Hanns On Ascend and PPC systems. Must know aseptic technique, standard compounding practices, basic word processing and spreadsheet manipulation, California State Law as it applies to the practice of pharmacy, basic Joint Commission of Accreditation of Hospitals and DHS requirements for good pharmacy practice.
