Carlos woke up early Saturday morning with a high fever. “I called my personal physician and got the answering machine. I didn’t want to wait until the doctor called back and I was beginning to feel much worse as the morning went on. I knew I wasn’t bad enough to go to the Emergency Room, yet what could I do to get immediate treatment?”
Some medical injuries don’t require a visit to the hospital emergency room. That’s why Delano Regional Medical Center established the Delano Urgent Care.
The Delano Urgent Care is staffed and equipped to evaluate and treat medical illnesses and injuries that need punctual attention but are not life threatening. Experienced clinical staff are on hand to assess and treat problems such as the flu and colds, cuts, sore throats, earaches, sprains and other minor injuries.
The Delano Urgent Care does not provide ongoing primary care. Instead, they treat patients who temporarily do not have a primary care physician, are unable to reach their doctor, or need prompt care without an appointment and after regular office hours. Patients with life-threatening illnesses should call 9-1-1 or seek care right away at the nearest Emergency Room.
